Yard Sale

Started the day with a yard sale. Intrigued by the culture and the micro-economics of each transaction. People flocking for treasure, to appease a fix. "Do we need this? We didn't need it before but now that we're here and it's such a steal..." The exchange of stuff. The wheel and the deal. At noon, we pack up what's left and head to Goodwill. While we were packing, folks kept driving by rubber-necking, searching like circling vultures. It felt good to unburden ourselves of these artifacts and be free from the scavenging eyes. Our wares were no longer for sale.

We ate at a delightful Jewish deli in downtown Westbrook and took a walk down the river. Served ice cream from one of the most personable humans I've meet in a while. Good salesman. Returned home and read for a bit and then went for a run with Joe. Talked the whole run, mostly about running and enjoyed the Maine countryside.

Upon returning we went out for pizza and laughed a great deal. After that we crashed from fatigue of a long day's work.
